ARRIVED IN BARRANCA

After a 4 hour trip on the bus, we finally arrived in Barranca, Peru. Barranca is about 350 km north of Lima.

On Saturday, we went with Pastor Rolanda of the Iglesia de Dios to Puente Bolivar. CHAKAM has been building a brandnew church building in that squatter community. The roof has almost been completed. Today (Monday), we made financial arrangements to have the roof completed. Although not completely finished, we have requested if we can have a church service there in about 10 days. They will install some provisional lights and we will have a wonderful time, dedicating this new church building. The people in the village are very grateful for what we have done so far.

We also looked at replacing (demolishing) some single moms´ housing. We have potentially picked out a few sites.

Last evening, John preached in the church in Barranca about ¨Dangers to Avoid in the Local Church". We had about an attendance of well over 100 people. Two people (father and son) got saved at the end of the service. The wife (mother) was very, very happy.

Today, we are starting day one of our five day course on "Walking with God". Fernanda Torres has come down from Lima to translate for us.

The weather remains warm and beautiful. PTL!!!!!

Till next time.

Pastors John and Hannelore
